A little history... The evolution of Kyodo Golf

Our interest in web solutions for golf clubs began in 2002 when we developed a website for a prominent East Midlands club. Later we added database functionality for a dynamic news feature, allowing the in-house update of this particular content. The need for our client to return to us to update other areas of their site such as the fixture list, social calendar, meeting dates and varied page content was costing them unnecessary time and expense to make relatively minor amendments when a new system could be incorporated to allow them to keep these updates in-house too.

We soon saw a valid market, a real opportunity to provide a quality service to allow golf clubs to reach out to members and potential visitors using the Internet by building a Content Management System coupled to a bespoke design, therefore offering a complete one-stop website solution.

Upon the undertaking of research into the current website functionality of many UK golf clubs, we discovered the need for something better. Poor, uncomplimentary design and outdated construction were not displaying the clubs assets to their best advantage. Where Content Management was incorporated, it often promotes shoddy layout and design, produces a tangled mess of code via an unintuitive interface.

As more visitors and golf societies search for courses to play via the Internet, it is becoming increasingly important to provide the best on-line experience possible.

We can see form the chart shown (taken directly from a club statistics system) that website visits vary throughout the year, particularly with a rise through the spring to autumn months. As the statistic system listed 64% of visitors as first-time visitors rather than repeat visits, this demonstrates just how many potential visitors are looking for a club to visit, and a course to play.
